We arrived here on our return trip this year only to find a locked gate across the entrance. The sign said that it didn't open until 8 o'clock and it closed at 5! Last year we were hiking by 7:30! Doesn't make much sense since...More

The parking lot is located at the end of Soledad Canyon Rd. The trail is well groomed with a slight incline that leads to a box canyon with beautiful waterfall with shade provided by a cluster of maple trees. The waterfall is worth the 3...More

This is a great place to hike and take your pet with you. Dogs and horses are allowed on the many beautiful trails that are available to hikers.

Better to go to Dripping Springs passed this place. This is mostly a residential area, you can hike up the canyon at the end of the development, but not nearly as nice, interesting or scenic as Dripping Springs moments up the road....a much better location...More

A lack of restroom would be the only complaint but regardless, this has outstanding hiking with amazing views. I loved every moment of the hike. It's a three mile loop but at around 1.9 miles you can veer off and go to the waterfall (it...More

We made a wrong turn & found ourselves driving through one of the most unusual landscapes I had ever seen. The Mountains are jagged and stricking. You can't take your eyes off them.

located just outside of Las Cruces, a wonderful, safe, scenic area for walking, hiking and enjoying nature. Maintained trails, easy to moderate; waterfall and natural pools (when there has been rain); bring water and lunch to enjoy in the shade of oak trees. A real...More

It would be a nice if the trails were a little better marked, but Soledad Canyon has a fairly easy loop (~3 mile) that is good for kids or folks that don't typically do a lot of hiking and the scenery is fantastic.
