You can walk either of the 1 mile trails or combine them for a longer hike. I like both trails. These trails are flat for the most part, and well taken care of.

Pretty decent little state park - only $5 a car. The hiking is pretty easy desert hiking - take water, sunscreen, and lots of bug spray! Visitor center is small...but has AC.

Stopped while in las Cruces, only a few miles from KOA. I’m out of season, but everything is well maintained. Visitor center, restrooms, parking good. Small garden, and trails to rio grande
