The mountains are beautiful! Just be sure to take lots of water as the 4 mile trail does not have a lot of shade and has a large elevation gain. There are points where you have to climb over rocks. Even if you only complete...More

This is a great little campground. There are always sites available and the hiking trails are very close. The drive to the site is really pretty. The trails are well marked and shaded in the switchbacks.

We watched the full moon rise from this excellent vantage point. Covered picnic tables, fire pits, and camping areas, without water. Clean area, with typical US outhouses. Day use is $5, but Half price for National Park senior pass. Gate locks at 6 PM, and...More

Love hiking the area. Visit after a rain and enjoy the springs. We counted over 20 but lost count after that. It was spectacular!

This place is super cool and not that far from El Paso or Las Cruces . The spring is beautiful and the trees vegetation and scenery fabulous. There is ample camping space as well .

Breathtaking views from some of the campsites. It was fairly quiet when we were there, and a very beautiful spot to camp for a few days. Unfortunately not a lot of hikes to choose from (well, two: a strenuous half-day loop, or a very strenuous...More

No springs but pretty. No showers. Close to the city. Look up their hours because they have a gate that closes. No room for large trailers.

I'd been eyeing these spectacular mountains the whole drive from Gila National Forest/Silver City. What a gorgeous surprise it was to find a campsite directly under the most photogenic part! Quiet site with grand views. Haven't hiked yet but will likely extend my visit another...More

When you're in the desert you don't expect a river and huge trees. Yet there is a wonderful contrast at this place. The sights are beautiful and the hiking can be somewhat moderate or difficult depending on what you like. The folks who gave it...More
