I have a history degree and am familiar with the Clovis points and peoples, but for some reason did not connect it to this area. (I was also pretty tired from a lot of camping and travel.) Happened to stay at a nearby state park...More

Better information here than at the museum... if you had to pick just one - go to the actual site. If you did go to the museum, keep the receipt so that you don't have to pay here. The visitor center here is better than...More

This is a small but unique archaeological dig site. The main area is under cover with the dig site exposed which all in my party from pre-teen to my own old self found to be very interesting. Be prepared to walk and if it is...More

I had heard about the Clovis site, where projectile points were found from the oldest people who settled this area, since school days. What better time to visit than when I was in the area. The site is a bit off the beaten path, but...More

A nice break from work one day...If you think back to Intro to Anthropology in college (those of us who had to or wanted take this class!), then you will both understand and appreciate the importance of this site. Located a few minutes outside of...More

An inactive archeology site where you can walk the site and view the findings without interruption at your own speed. For a small fee you can walk the trail around the site and self-guide yourself through the digs, visit the well, and view a unique...More

We went here not knowing anything about the area. There are a great deal of local artifacts and education regrading the local indigenous peoples. We had ages 19-70 and all found this site interesting!

The exhibits compare mastodons with mammoths and other extinct large mammals. Also you can get a better understanding of early weapons, the difference between clovis and fulsome points. The museum is open year round--check website for details. The dig site would be awesome to visit,...More
