Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Blyde River Canyon is a 26 km long canyon that is considered the 3rd largest canyon in the world behind the Grand Canyon (U.S.A.) and Fish River Canyon (Namibia) and the largest 'green' canyon in the world. It is most notable location is at a viewpoint overlooking a land formation known as the Three Rondavels. Visitors can access a designated viewpoint and visitation area along R532 called Three Rondavels and taken in spectacular views deep into the canyon, viewing the lake, canyon walls and beautiful landscape.

Note: During our most recent trip, we visited the Forever Blyde River Canyon Resort for the first time and hiked along a few of their designated trails. The Leopard Trail includes several additional viewpoints of the canyon and Three Rondavels. These were very impressive as well. Something to consider for those seeking good hiking trails during stays in the area.

This is quite breath taking. I could not believe it had not been here before. We had a lovely walk around and also went to the pot holes and dangled my feet in the water. Great day.

We travelled with RSD travel tour of South Africa. From Johannesburg to Destiny Lodge we stopped at Blyde River Canyon for an hour to take pictures, buy gifts at stalls and toilet break. The views across the Canyon is out of this world and so beautiful. The scenery is amazing. Lovely place to visit.

What a gorgeous place. This place is the third biggest canyon of the world. The depth is impressive. The view is just amazing. I recommend this place to see. Beware of if you have children because there’s no barrier.

The views were out of this world, particularly in the northern part of the Drakensberg escarpment with the amazing geological features of Bourke's luck potholes situated in the confluence of the Blyde and Treur rivers. We weren't so lucky with the God's window because of the low clouds making it impossible to see anything.
