Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We were in Khwai for 2 nights. This was the starting point for our safari and boy did it give us the best possible start for our trip! The geography of the place is stunning with the beautiful Khwai river serving as a backdrop to all possible kind of birds and animals - hippos (hundreds), impalas, lechwes, kudus, hyenas, giraffes, elephants and also lions.
Lots of birds too. One does need a guide to enjoy this place though - we did see some vehicles who were attempting self drives. Experienced guides with their excellent knowledge of the topography, climate, sharp eyesight and the senses can give one much more in a safari.
Khwai shall not disappoint.

Was here during our epic trip to Chobe from Moremi via Khwai and Savuti. We stayed at K2 close to the wooden bridge and the river ofcourse.

What a campsite mannnnnn?

Hippos making noise, Hyenas & Spotted genets walking around and the Honey Badger coming straight into the middle of our chairs looking for something and freak the "Sxxx" out of us.

Later when we go to sleep we have all of these walking around and fighting with each other while we watch from the tent. Did not have any safety issues, but the adrenaline and thrill to live with the wild is priceless and Khwai is one exceptionally beautiful place.

The Khwai River borders the Moremi Game Reserve in the North-East. Although the Moremi Campsite is on the river itself, it is rather costly for foreign visitors to camp there. On the northerly side of the bridge is Khwai Village, which has a community camp. The community camps do not differentiate in price between SADC citizens and foreigners, unlike the Botswana Game Reserve that contracts out all accommodation the reserves which is expensive for foreigners compared to SADC citizens. It would pay foreigners to rather stay at community camps and go into the Reserves daily. There is not differentiation in the entry cost for SADC and foreigners to Botswana reserves.

My visit to khwai was outstanding as usual. I was on a business trip with my friends just to see the routes and also new camps in the area. our 1 night at Magotlho campsite we saw loads of animals, lions, giraffes, leopard and general game. We also decided to do a night drive and a walk to the village and interact with people. I love Khwai. Great sightings every day. The Bridge also was new and it has a nice view

The bridge was interesting, quite new as the old collapsed bridge has been replaced. It offered a nice view of the sunset and was guarded by a large troupe of baboons.

The bridge is made of telephone poles running across the river. One day on our return to camp, baboons were dragging a dead baby around and would not let us cross for about ten minutes. A learning experience about baboon behavior.

Despite there being less water than usual at this time of year, the wildlife viewing in this location was exceptional and we also looked at birds, insects, dragonflies and butterflies, and plants.
