My husband and I enjoy walking around the grounds. FDNY train here. Historical society is here. Kids play soccer here. There is also a pool available in the summer. You can walk the fort which is fun.

the sun was shining my wife and i were both off and fancied a stroll went to fort totten and what a hidden paradise, great buildings with historic values manicured lawns great paths spent an entire afternoon just walking around

Long very former military installation on bayside bay. A little curly looking place that still has the old time airs and is well kept

Wonderful history laden place. Self guided tours every Sunday. The fort was built in the 1850s to protecr the East River and entrance to New York harbor.

walking around the grounds is just beautiful. exploring the nooks and crannys of this old fort is well worth the visit

You can walk or bike around Fort Totten, along the water front, or just sit at one of the benches stare at the beauty ofThrogs Neck bridge. A nice way to spend a few hours when the weather is nice.
