Expensive to maintain I am sure but so worth creating memories for children. Added benefit is the education obtainable with the Zoo. So important to understand nature and the local offerings.

I'd come back to Bnghamton to see a terminally ill friend whom I'd last seen in 2011. He told me over many emails and internet chats about the Carousels in the Carousel City. Sadly my friend died just days before I arrived. So I saw...More

Great historic carousel that is clean and is always running. The only charge has always been a piece of garbage. Adults and children can ride comfortably.

A beautifully restored piece of American history that actually still works (unlike so much else around Binghamton)! Hop on, listen to the antique Wurlitzer play its music, and sync into a bygone era The Twilight Zone's Rod Serling could write volumes about. Enjoy. Definitely worth...More

I am partial in favor of Rec Park, but it's a gorgeous city park-- you walk through a ring of old trees up to a beautiful carousel that plays music and is free all summer long. There's a giant pool that is practically free, and...More

looking for a nice squirrel watching venue? Take your dog here! It's too bad the fountain and reflecting pool was so dirty. Beautiful sculptures!

The carousels are only open until Labor Day unless they have a special event. Last year (2015) The Recreation Park Carousel had a winter event for a few weekends around Christmas time.
