This small country cottage was Poe's last home before he died. The house is unique. It's the only place where you can see life as it was lived in the mid-19th century

This attraction won't take up most of your morning. There isn't much to see and not very interesting. Less than 30 min to complete the whole thing. Unless an extremely fanatic fan of Poe I wouldn't bother.

This is a very authentic piece of Poe history, being the home he wrote some of his classic works in and the home where his wife Virginia died. It is a small house, as Poe didn't have much money. The tour guide was excellent -...More

Great to find such an historical landmark so close to the Bronx Zoo and White Castle Hamburgers. It's like an island in the middle of a very busy shopping location in the Bronx and kept up very well. Worth taking half a day to see.

This home has a guided tour with a 20 minute film. A must see if you love Edgar Allan Poe and want to know him better. There is no handicap access and I don't recommend it for older folks that have mobility issues. Parents of...More

My grown children and I visited the Poe cottage because we (or at least I) love literary field trips. The cottage is cute and in good condition. The guide was enthusiastic about Poe and quite engaging. I felt more context was needed for the talk--Poe's...More
