We went with my wife Dad, I had been there many many years ago. It was fun and we learned lots of stuff. It is an important museum to visit and great for kids. Limited parking.

The museum gives a great history about Long Island Whaling, shipbuilding AND the whaling industry. How does one get the whale? How is it brought to shore? What were the uses of the parts of the whale?

It's a rather small, but very good, museum highlighting the town's history and role in the whaling industry. They have a good number of paintings, maps, and artifacts from the time - all quite detailed. Fun and educational for families, kids, couples. Check it out...More

Great for Kid's as well as Adult's to learn some Long Island culture on past Whaling Tales ,there is free parking and other points of interest in the area ,local scenery is over loking Long Island Sound and Marina"s

My date and I enjoyed the Whaling Museum and learned a lot about Long Island's whaling industry from the various exhibits, artifacts and interactive things throughout the museum. Great place to take older kids, too, for a wonderful and fun learning experience.

I grew up in Seaford and now live in Cold Spring Harbor. Nothing beats how awesome the history is in this town. This is just one of many spots I go to here to see what it's like. I like marine life so this place...More
