Its curious that the sign calls this a mysterious mound. Indian mounds like this are all over the midwest and there are a lot of theories about them. Mysterious is only that they are unsure about them. Anyway, even on a snowy day, its a...More

If you like understated monuments and ones that are respectful, be sure to stop by this one in the fenced area just a block and a half outside of town. The setting is tranquil and the plaque is poignant.

We made a quick stop while leaving town because it is an interesting part of the history of the area. Not much to see but it is a beautiful setting!

Not much here, easy to get to, but limited parking, just off the end of main street. There is a plaque to tell about the mound and the surrounding park is a nice hike to the river.

Easily accessed from the center of town. There is an historical sign explaining the area. Stop and look around as you drive to other attractions.

I like learning some history of the areas we visit. This was very insightful. Not much more other than the plaque placed at the Burial Mound, but it did make me think.

This burial mound is located in a small field at the end of Main St. across from some historical homes on the lake. It was eerie and different and a quaint piece of history from the area.

This is really just a field with signs explaining what was done at the site. Only takes a minute to stop. Interesting.
