Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Corning overall holds many beautiful sights, and the Gaffer District (often known simply as "Market Street" by the surrounding locals), goes from pretty to absolutely spectacular for Independence Day and especially for Christmas festivities. Can't miss out!

This downtown part of Corning is very quaint. The street is lined with various restaurants, wine bars and shops. We enjoyed eating at a few of these and browsing through the shops. The town center clock is beautiful and the square that it’s in is a fantastic place to gather with friends, have a meal outdoors or even play a tune on the piano for everyone’s enjoyment!

Spent time walking around, had a lovely time at FLX Provisions, introduced to a wonderful NY Syrah! Had one of the best dinners at Nine Elephants. Charming area. Good for a Day trip.

Nice area to walk through with lots of shops and restaurants. Lots of historic buildings. Check out the clock tower. It makes for a nice photo.

Not very impressive. Quite a few historic buildings, but not much in them. A few restaurants, antique stores and a Corningware/Corelle outlet.

Cute stores that were mostly closed on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday. A few decent restaurants but slim pickings. Very quiet. The Hilton Garden Inn was excellent and above expectations. Wegman’s helped too! Nice for 1-2 days- Corning Museum was brilliant and worth the trip

Was really impressed with old time architecture that has been preserved. Make sure to allow enough time to walk up and down the whole way

This was a place we had visited before when we were in Corning and had a good time. Perhaps it was the month or middle of the week, but we found most of the shops and boutiques closed.
There was only an antique store and one glass shop open.
There were plenty of places to grab lunch though.

Visit the "Buildings Alive" locations (each marked by a metal sign on the building) for highlights of turn-of-the-last-century architecture along Market Street East and West. Most stores close at 5 PM, except for the numerous restaurants.
