My friend & I rode our horses into WPR last weekend. Wonderful place to wander, breathe fresh air, chat with hikers, be away from traffic, blacktop, motorized vehicles. I'd advise bringing a trail map since the markings are not intuitive. I may bring a compass...More

I have been hiking ward pound Ridge for two years now. It's a great way to get exercise and stay healthy. And the trails seem to change with each season, which keeps the scenery varied. I have seen some people running the trail, but I...More

It was bracing, but very interesting, to hike this park as winter approaches. The largest park in Westchester County, Ward Pound Ridge has areas with lots of people and places where few are encountered. Picnic areas, Trailside Museum and the park office are along Reservation...More

One of my favorite places to hike, there are many trails to choose from ranging from relatively easy to very steep and challenging. Don't expect sweeping views, rather views of woods and meadow beyond. Trails are extraordinarily well-marked and the staff at the Visitors Center...More

This large Westchester County park is a true gem - miles and miles of trails through mixed woods, along streams, up and down small mountains.. perfect for hiking, running, cross-country skiing, picnicking and even camping.

This is a beautiful park with hundreds of acres to walk, hike, and enjoy. There are any different arenas: woods if you prefer, a stream to walk along, an old graveyard to explire, open grassy fields, many deer to see at dusk.

With more than 4,300 acres of meadows, streams, and woodlands, and miles of trails to explore, there is plenty to see at Ward Pound Ridge Reservation. Kids love the Trailside Museum and Native American exhibits; adults like hiking to one of the caves where the...More

A very nice place for walks – or even hikes – with a variety of topography and environments. Very welcoming to people and dogs.

It depends in what shape you're in. You can travel along the green/red trail until it starts to incline then turn back. Also you can go the Trailside Nature Museum and walk around there. The FDR State Park has some flat... More

I have been camping here every June for the past 6-7 yrs. I love the park. That said they build a bath house years ago that never opened. We have to use portapotty's and drive to the main entrance for water. Prior to the new building there were at least toilets and water for hand washing. Will this facility ever open?
