The Roycroft Campus in East Aurora, New York, is the best preserved and most complete complex of buildings remaining in the United States of the "guilds" that evolved as centers of craftsmanship and philosophy during the late 19th century. The Campus, designated a National Historic Landmark district (NHL) in 1986, contains nine of the original 14 structures including the Inn, the Chapel, the Print Shop, the Furniture Shop, and the Copper Shop. You are invited to come visit and discover the rebirth of the Roycroft Campus as if Elbert Hubbard and the Roycrofters never left.

Begun in the mid 1800's by Elbert Hubard to train craftsmen in printing, woodworking, copper craft. Similar to those in England, it began to decline when the founder & his wife died in the sinking of the Lusitania in 1915, the campus struggled up to the mid 80's as a Resturant & gift shop for craft items when it closed,... We thoroughly enjoyed with all our senses the lovely environment of the campus, overnight at the beautifully restored and maintained Roycroft Inn and delicious meals on the candlelit outdoor promenade. The tour was informative giving us a deeper appreciation and understanding of the arts and crafts movement in this country. What a gift!

Stay here above all others! Quaint and quiet. We stayed here one night during our visit to western New York State. The Roycroft Inn was actually less expensive than a competitor we stayed at the day before! We had a four room suite that was absolutely gorgeous! Extremely quiet during the night. We had dinner at the Inn and was... More

I highly recommend staying at the Roycroft Inn and then walking the Campus. We enjoyed talking with Arts & Crafts Woodworker, Jim Cordes, who is quite inspiring!

I took the silver clay jewelry making course, taught by a Roycroft artisan. Small class with individual attention. Highly recommend! I would definitely take a class here again.

3rd time this summer for burger & beer Tuesday night special. Good deal - burger w/fries & glass of beer or wine for $15.00. Additional toppings on burgers are $1.00 each. First two experiences were very good. This last one wasn't so good. Service was slow and the kitchen must have messed up our order as we had to wait... More

The Roycroft Campus gives the casual visitor as well as the interested collector an understanding of the continuing heritage of Roycroft. The buildings are delightful and the current artisans generate wonderful pieces.

Great if you are an "Arts & Crafts" fan or fantastic if you are interested in Roycroft and Hubbard otherwise a nice gift shop with a little bit of historical info wrapped in a historical setting. They offer many historical seminars and "classes" but they are not spur of the moment vacation items.
