Amazing natural wonder
May 2021
A fantastic natural spectacle and well worth making this part of a walk in the surrounding area. There are stunning views across the valleys and the waterfall is a crowning piece of spectacular nature.

very impressive after recent rain

We parked in Garrigill and walked to the waterfall. Paths were sometimes slippery but it was worth the effort as not just the main falls but the whole length of the river was very active.

A special place
Aug 2019
We have visited this beautiful place for many years first with grandchildren and now with great grandson. I found it a bit difficult to get down the steep path this time ,went so far on my bum The rest of my family go via the rocky tunnel Alternative route up river from Garrigill is a lovely walk

Family Adventure
Jul 2019 • Family
I would highly recommend a visit to this waterfall. It is a beautiful setting, although can be a bit tricky to get down to if the weather hasn't been great. (Slippy under foot). One of the few Cumbrian waterfalls which you can stand behind, and it is well worth it. Took my son of 4 and my daughter 14 to see the falls and they both loved it. A great little adventure after visiting the railway in Alston. Inwould definitely recommend, not much parking nearby and was very busy due to local scout groups in the area.

Beautiful

Lovely waterfall well worth hunting it out, wasn’t the easiest to find.
The climb down was a bit sketchy in places and slippery so walking boots are a must.
Beautiful waterfall, enjoyed the short walk from the road.

Nice walk
Apr 2019 • Family
This was a nice walk up to the waterfall. It was a little muddy and slippy during our visit so please wear appropriate footwear and watch your step.
The views were nice and it was good to see the lambs running about on the way to the waterfall.
On the way back we followed a different route. Unfortunately a number of trees had fallen on the fence meaning we had to hike up steep hills, over tree branches and through marshy ground. My son enjoyed it but it was a bit of a hike!!
What was really disappointing was the litter that we saw in numerous locations around as we walked through the fields.

Very Beautilful
Mar 2019 • Couples
Very beautiful waterfall and surroundings - probably my favourite that we saw whilst in Cumbria.
Its a little but uneven and hilly, and the ground a little slippery to get to the waterfall but once you are there its very worth it - top tip make sure you go behind the waterfall for a pretty amazing experience and cool photos!

Very Nice Falls
Oct 2018 • Couples
Went to these falls on the way Solway, the walk to the falls is quite hilly so beware, you find the falls under the road bridge walk back to the stile near the farm and follow the path it's a little steep but you can get close like all people who go to falls they need to get as close as they can and this is one of them.

There wasn't much water for October but a good show. Well worth a visit, even more spectacular after a downpour.

Worth the walk
Sep 2018 • Couples
Able to walk to here from our rental cottage
Was around 2 miles each way but there was a leaflet with instructions how to get to it
Can imagine how fab it would look after heavy rainfall as it was impressive as it was
