Located in beautiful East Hampton, New York, LongHouse Reserve is a sixteen acre garden with established lawns, ornamental borders, plant collections and outdoor sculpture, planned by the internationally recognized textile designer, Jack Lenor Larsen. Mr. Larsen, along with the recommendations of the LHR Art Committee, has assembled a collection of over 70 sculptures for the gardens. LongHouse Reserve was established in 1991 and reflects founder Jack Lenor Larsen's desire to encourage creativity in gardening and in collecting and every day living with art. LongHouse gardens are open to the public Wednesdays and Saturdays, through June 30, 2018, and September 1 - October 6, 2018. Open Wednesdays through Saturdays, July 4 - August 29, 2018, 2-5pm. Open Saturdays, October 13 - November 24 2018, 12-3pm.

The grounds and sculptures are equally superb, and even qualify as fairly peaceful if you arrive soon after it opens. Buckminster Fuller and Dale Chihuly are among the big names, but their works are not necessarily the most arresting.More

Beautiful garden with art in it. You will get a completely different experience than in a gallery because the art is set in nature.
