This is where Mark Twain and his family is buried, also Ernie Davis, plus many others. There are paths to walk through and see all the beautiful head stones and monuments. There are also several military and family's buried here. This is a national cemetery.

Mark Twain is the likely draw here, art and sculpture abounds as does tranquility and exercise. What seems the end of life for them is a journey for the living!

It's a nice, park-like setting, but the historical areas are fenced off and we couldn't find a way to see either the Confederate or Union gravesites. This was a real disappointment for the Civil War buff in our group.

We went mainly to see Mark Twain grave but stayed and wandered around looking at the other areas as well. Seemed to be well kept with many old-style tombstones and sculptures. Also, near but not connected to a federal cemetery with a separate civil war...More

The cemetery is very well kept and allows one time to reflect while walking through it. There are many trees and many different types of headstones. It is interesting to read some of the inscriptions - some lived a long life while others left this...More

So many interesting people here, accentuated by the burial site of the Confederate POWs from the Elmira camp. Quiet and peaceful for a walk.
