Took this ride on the Erie Canal and enjoyed it very much. The boat was comfortable with cushioned seating on the bottom level and plastic lawn chairs on the top level. The Captain broke in every so often for some fun facts. Going through the...More
Ride a passenger boat through a long length of the Erie Canal, including a lock. This is a good opportunity to see a lock in action. Ride the boat on the upper deck because the lower deck is too warm and stuffy. Wear a hat...More

My family took the cruise. My expectation was that there would be information presented as we road up the canal. There was a limited amount of information presented by the captain, however we could not hear anything through the speakers. It was raining so were...More
We took the lunch cruise on a weekday, three hours, from 1-4pm. Thankfully the weather cooperated, and it was partly sunny/ partly cloudy so that sitting on the upper deck was comfortable. There was a nice breeze when the boat was moving, even though it...More
The cruise probably would have been very nice, had the captain been narrating. Basically you were just coasting down the canal looking at trees, peeled houses, people biking and walking. After a while it got pretty boring (3 hours). There is history and many interesting facts...More
Could Independence Day be any better? In Rochester, NY. Fireworks and fairly good meal along the Erie Canal.
The cruise was very easy going. We would have preferred some dialogue with history of the canal and the city of Rochester.

There is a ramp from the parking lot to the dock and a ramp to the first level.from there, they aren't very accommodating unless you pay extra to eat. They didn't really care if my father who is 87 and on a walker or my mother who had two strokes had a seat where they could see because they can't make it upstairs and we didn't pay to dine. All lower deck seats with a decent view had reserved signs for diners that went upstairs anyway except for the half hour they ate.
They responded to my question via email:
Two hour cruises are $15 for Seniors and $11 Age 10 and under.
Three hour cruises are $19 for Seniors and $13 Age 10 and under.
There is no charge for children Age 4 and under.
It's about a 20-30 minute ride via expressways from Rochester airport to Fairport. I believe it's Rt. 390S to 590N and then 490E to 31F east, and north a half block to the canal. You might Google it or check ur GPS to... More

You might Google it or check ur GPS to confirm directions. You can board the Colonial Belle canalside at the lift bridge in downtown Fairport. I hope his helps.
