The main museum building was closed on the weekday we passed through, but the outdoor "fossil" bucket was really cute for the kids. Neat to learn a little bit about the history of the area.

Who knew? Devonian fossils in New York. This is more exciting, and older, than dinosaurs. Well, the kids might be less excited, but they are cool, in their own way.

This little museum completely staffed by volunteers is filled with the history of the area From the Devonian period of time ( before the dinosaurs ! ) when the first trees in THE WORLD grew here to the time when the thriving town of Gilboa...More

A small town museum with so many interesting items and plenty of local history. Very interesting and worth going out of your way. They did a wonderful job on the expansion. I even did some Geneology work as they had Gilboa yearbooks and local history....More

This is just a worthwhile little stop if you traveling through the Catskills. A road side display. They look like big rocks until you examine a bit closer. They are big fossilized tree pieces. There is some reading to do at the kiosk. Great spot...More
