We had the best time there. Spent the day on the beach flying kites and snacking. The park is clean, well maintained. The rangers were always patrolling as to keep order (quiet) and to help where necessary. The people in " loop c ", (guess...More

Some history: my grandfather helped build this park during the Great Depression when he worked for the WPA, so I have an emotional connection. During my childhood, this was a great park. Five beaches, lots of trails, wildlife, family and church picnics, playgrounds, and they...More

We go here after work and on weekends during the summer. Area 5 is quiet and not busy compared to other areas. The water can have algae on occasion. The water is fairly warm in August and September. I typically swim in the lake in...More

We are in our mid 50-s and booked a camper site at Hamlin beach state park. Upon arrival there was about a 30 minute wait to check in as there was a line of people who, like us, did not pre-register their vehicles beforehand. No...More

My husband & I camped overnight at this park recently. We had a nice woodsy spot with electric hookup & bathrooms nearby. No water hook-up, just some spigots scattered throughout our loop. Beach area is nice, with lifeguards & picnic spots. We saw a pair...More

Took grandson and granddaughter since we're having 90+ degree weather in Rochester. $7.00 per car to enter the park. Brought the chairs, umbrella, floaty toys, goggles, arm floaties for her, boogie board for him. Kids were mighty excited. First sign we saw - only one...More

We have stayed here twice now and compared to other state parks Hamlin Beach doesn't compare. The bathrooms are old and not maintained. Camps sites are decent but the beach is nothing but crushed rocks. I would recommend Sampson or cedar point over Hamlin.

The campground is nicely wooded so that even sites fairly close together seem private due to the trees and brush. Site sizes and configurations vary a bit, with some being very spacious and others still not cramped. Nice fire rings and electric at the sites....More

I believe they have certain loops that allow pets (and others that don’t). Make sure your site is in a pet friendly loop.

I have not stayed in the shelters so I can not directly answer this question. I would call the park and ask. Sorry I could not be of more help.

You can swim there now. The latest water test was good. It is recommended to call before you go. The number is 585-964-2462. That would be your best resource for information about the pavilions as well. Hope it works out.
