Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Used Sam's tours for an overnight road trip to Georgetown. We had a fantastic time. Our guide was Ebrima D and our driver was Lamin. Both looked after us really well and were very genuine in making sure that we had a good time.

I really recommend this trip - get away from the tourist hustle and bustle of Kotu and its surrounding. See rural Gambia, meet local people and get a feel for what life is like for people.

When we visit The Gambia we always take at least one tour with Sams tours. This time we did Lazy day on the river with I-man (Ibrahim) as our guide and as usual he gave us a perfect experience in The Gambia. Sam was driving us and he was punctual and also gave us an unexpected and fun shortcut way back home to the hotel. :-) We do highly recommend Sams tours. Price worthy, nice staff and you get a good experience as a tourist in The Gambia - what ever tour you choose.

Big up to Ibrahim that always keep a professional and service minded vibe!

This was out third trip with Sams. We were at Makasutu and Monkeypark in March. This time we went on the Lazy Day-tour. It was fantastic. A tour on the river, fishing and swimming. The tourguide Ibrahim could not have been nicer,
helpful and in good spirit. The pickup was punktual and prices resonable. We give the best rekommendation.

Very nice crew and guides to discover Gambia or Senegal.
Local people always know things best in their own country and they can negociate more if needed.

Sams Tours have an office/site just outside the 'Kombo Beach' hotel where we stayed. Our Tour operator - Thomas Cook, offered tours in and around Gambia, but as you would expect they charge considerably more than local Tour guides.
As soon as we visited Sams office outside the hotel we were made to feel very relaxed and no hard sell from the team. We booked 2 tours and without exception the service from Sams is second to none. Our tour guides Abrahim and Libertie were superb and really looked after myself and my wife, it was like having our own body guards. They are always placing your safety and enjoyment at the top of their list. They are both fun guys to be with, and without them we would not have learned as much about the island as we did.
Customer service and enjoyment is second to none and Sams Tours gave us 2 very special days to remember.
If you always take the safe option and go with the Tour Operators trips then give Sams Tours a go and book an excursion/trip with them, you will not be disappointed. When next in Gambia we will head straight for Sams when we want to book a trip.
At every stage of our experience with Sams Tours we were made to feel special and we had some real fun with both Abrahim and Liberty.
I really hope Sams Tours grows to become one of Gambia's biggest local Tour operators, it deserves to.

Thanks to all the team for looking after myself and my wife, we love you guys.

Despite many 'offers' from unofficial guides to show us around we opted to book with Sam's Tours and were very pleased we did. We were accompanied by Abrahim and Libertie who were totally amazing, such lovely lads, great personalities combined with a load of Gambian/local knowledge. We could have done it cheaper, it could have cost us more ..... ultimately we made the right decision with these boys. It was a fabulous day travelling in the open top 4x4 visiting the Crocodile Park and Museum, Bakau Community Centre Free School, Wood Carving and Textile Dyeing/Printing unit, Paradise Beach with freshly cooked lunch and drinks, Serekunda Market and finally Tanji Fishing Village. Totally amazing fun packed day, thanks again lads you were both great, hopefully we'll see you all again soon, Lyn and Helen :-)
