At the great cave of the Northeast, an elevator takes you 156’below ground. The doors open into a prehistoric underground cavern 6,000,000 years in the making! Trained tour guides help negotiate the cave and teach about its magnificent natural features. Back on the surface, mine for gemstones at Howe Caverns Mining Co. Beginning summer 2011, enjoy the first phase of Howe High Adventures—featuring ropes courses, climbing walls, zip lines and more!

We have been there on January weekend with not a lot of people and it was fun and not so busy. We almost have private tour just us and another couple. There is a lot to see but after you been in other caverns in the world, this is not one of the amazing that I saw. But if you... More

We were lucky enough to have a private tour on a day when the caves are usually closed. Joe was our tour guide and led us on a fantastic tour around the caverns. We were enchanted with their beauty and learnt a lot from Joe. We can't recommend a tour like this more highly - just wonderful.

The caverns are absolutely beautiful. The walkways are safe and provide plenty of room to move around. The caverns appear to be very well maintained. The tour guide was informative but it was very hard to hear her. The tour went pretty quickly and there did not seem to be enough time to take pictures or take a longer look... More

Highly worthwhile tour Friendly staff Great total package This was a pretty exceptional experience on a couple of fronts. They have put a lot of effort into making it an adventurous trip and the guides are amazing too. The tour lasted just over an hour and it is guided the entire time.

Had always heard about Howe caverns and while on vacation in Lake George we decided to make the trip. We arrived around 1:00 p.m. to about an hour wait to get into the cavern. You take an elevator down into the caverns the tour is about an hour and a half so I do recommend a light jacket or sweatshirt... More

The How Caverns were open to the public since 1842 and still are an interesting place to visit. It is a well-organized visit from the moment you buy your ticket, then you'll hear the story of how they found the caverns. The guided tour was very good, our guide pointed out some interesting spots on the trail. We enjoyed the... More

We took our out-of-town guests here on Black Friday and I was stunned by the steep entrance fees. For a 90-minute (slow-paced) tour, we paid $25/adult, $20/teenager and $10/ younger kid. You have to see the sites w/ a guide and cannot wander about on your own. Although our guide was well-prepared and a good speaker, the tour was a... More

It is not just the caverns. That is really cool (literally), but also they have a ropes course, gem mining and best of all the H2GO ball. Our two young nieces were afraid at first, but once in the ball...they just loved it. Go to their website to check it out. I am an adventurous Grandma and if I had... More
