Great collection, great atmosphere

The collection is diverse, and really wonderfully exhibited. Well worth checking out, even if you're not a seasoned art lover.

On the Cornell University campus, the museum is a treasure. It has things you just don't see elsewhere, like an extensive collection of native American textiles and local artis ceramics. We intended to stop in to fill in some time between two other appointments, and ended up coming back to the museum for an additional hour and a half.

Great collection. Wonderful staff. The views of Cayuga lake are amazing. Parking can be difficult but worth going to.

This is a terrific art museum, especially for a town the size of Ithaca. Each floor has wonderful, unique surprises, so make sure that you have enough time to explore. However, even if you only have 30 minutes, that's fine. You can pop in and see a little of the museum. It is good for all ages and can be... More

There is a parking lot (it takes quarters) but make sure you register with the front desk when you park there or you'll get a ticket!

We went to the Museum on a rainy, cold November afternoon. In my opinion, the architecture of the building and the views are the best thing about the museum. Yes, the exhibit was very good. However, be sure to get to the top floor to see the city of Ithaca below you and Cayuga lake in the distance. It is... More

Johnson Museum at Cornell is in an iconic I.M.Pei building overlooking Lake Cayuga. The collection of almost 38,000 pieces is varied and interesting Of particular interest is the exhibit of Asian art on the 5th floor. Their are currently 3 exhibits relating to Japanese art. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Parking is easily available directly adjacent the museum.... More

A very good core collection added to when special exhibits pass through or originate here. The views from the upper floors, open if weather permits or fully enclosed offer terrific views down into the City of Ithaca.
