Excellent show, seating plentiful like theater.., beer or wine plus water candy or pop corn which we suggest a beverage since there is no air conditioning which should be installed soon to the tune of 2.5 million. Remember their 90th year and still renovating a...More

The State Theater could definitely use some TLC, and updating, but it's a tradition, it's iconic, and it plays host to many wonderful acts which come to the area. Climate control is definitely an issue, particularly in the summer, when it gets pretty hot and...More

Beautiful theatre! Every seat is a good seat. I'm not an expert on sound, but the concert sounded good to me in the back of the balcony. They sell beer, but the lines are rediculously long so I didn't bother (it's only draft in plastic...More

A questionable play about Elmer Elevator rescuing a dragon. Poorly acted and even the children were bored. Narration was dreadful. The actual theatre was a good size and the stage easily seen by all. The children were enchanted by the castle like entrance hall. Effort...More

My husband and I visited last night and saw Broken Social Scene. The theatre was beautiful and quaint. We were in a side aisle seat, toward the front of the theatre. Parking was easy-we parked about a block away in a small lot for free...More

We have traveled to lots of theaters to see concerts, and the State Theater of Ithaca is a cool venue that is just the right size for enjoying a great show. The acoustics are not ideal, but you don't have a bad seat when you're...More

The State Theatre of Ithaca is another example of an old-fashioned large movie theater repurposed and updated for concerts and various gigs of top-name musicians and entertainers. The stage and acoustics were excellent; the seats not so much (cramped, not enough leg room). Downtown Ithaca...More

They don't make em like this anymore--def see (or perform!) a show here if you have the chance. Amazing space, decent seats and sound for old place like this. Quite large--1600 seats--so check seating chart and try for orchestra front half if you can. Orchestra...More
