Foremost I am really appreciate that the Hangar has a longer season now than it did. Next, I am doubly appreciative that there is the opportunity to view world class theatre like Aaron Goldman's "Wrestling Jerusalem". Not only was the play brilliant but the Hangar setting lent itself very well to it. I wish the talk back had been advertised... More

We enjoyed seeing "Third" at the theater and were impressed with the quality of the production. The pre-show talk was informative and gave insight into the "big questions" posed in the play. The facility was well maintained, and the price was fair. Although we were tourists just in town for the night, the season selections appeared to be varied and... More

We have never been disappointed with any of the productions we have seen at this regional summer theatre in Ithaca, New York. The venue, a renovated seaplane hanger, the setting in a quiet NY State college town, and the quality actors - many brought here directly from New York City - make for smartly directed, finally staged and outstanding theatre.... We were visiting friends in Clayton, NY and my wife's former, boss, who's daughter is in the performing arts was appearing at the Hangar during our visit. So, we gathered everyone up and traveled over two hours to this venue. Interesting construction. "In the Heights" was playing at the time and it is a great show. I always find the... More

The Hangar Theatre name comes from an earlier use of the property as the hangar for Ithaca's first airport. You'll find historic photos in the lobby and you'll be delighted at the excellent reuse of the facility. I'm guessing that the facility seats 150 to 200, all very comfortably around a thrust-out stage and everyone is reasonably close to the... More

We went to a matinee to see the first show of the season and were thoroughly delighted. The theater is a made-over airport hanger and it is lovely! The staff was welcoming and refreshments were available in the lobby. The theater did not appear to have a bad seat anywhere. The line of sight was great, as were the acoustics.... More

Really enjoyed the production of "I loved, I lost, I made spaghetti." The theater is fairly small, but all seats have good line of sight. Prices are very reasonable and amenities available. The Wednesday 2 PM show in the summer is a real plus for older folks who do not want to drive at night. I am anxious to try... More

We've had season tickets to the Hangar for many years. The summer main stage productions are always top-notch, and are often a mix of local and imported talent. One benefit of being a season ticket holder is that we can exchange tickets for other performance dates if our plans change. If you're local, I'd suggest purchasing season tickets. If you're... The theatre provides a series of kiddy shows every summer. Affordable price and good facilities. Highly recommend place if you want kids to enjoy the shows based on classics like Stuart little.
