Endayene (Indie) accompanied us on 1 1/2 days of exploring the wonders of Lalibela with our three sons. He was very knowledgable, helpful, reliable, punctual and extremely good with our boys. They enjoyed your attention and the game you thaught them. We loved every second of our trip. Thanks for a wonderful time Doris, Wondi and boys

I visited Lalibella for the Epiphany of St George in early 2022 and had a fantastic time - can thoroughly recommend my guide, Addisalem Berhanu. He's a Lalibella boy, born and bred, and knows the town and surrounding hills like that back of his hand. He speaks excellent English and can arrange anything you need, from vehicles, to hotels, to hikes and church tours. Must meet! This is his number: +251 90 149 5017

I travelled solo to Lalibela for 1 day tour with Endi (Endayene Ayalew). He's very knowledgeable with the history of the churches and you can ask him anything. Endi managed everything from the transportation, hotel, and entrance fee. Aside from the church tour, I also had an opportunity to have a coffee ceremony at a local house (Endi's friend) which is very interesting. Endi has been so patient and helpful during my time in Lalibela, and I highly recommended him to be your guide. He is very well known in the area so you will definitely feel safe! Attached is his card if you need to contact him.

I found Alex on TripAdvisor and cannot recommend him enough! He speaks fluent English and is much fun to spend the day with on the Rock-hewn Churches Tour in Lalibela. We did two sessions - 8:30-11:30, broke for lunch and then continued 14:00-16:30. Alex is always punctual, full of energy and very knowledgeable to work with! He's also kind and had all the patience in the world to answer numerous questions. His restaurant recommendations in Lalibela are also spot on! Contact him for further details or PM me. I am from California USA and recently discovered that my ancestors are from the D'Mt Axum dynasties , so visiting Lalibela was essential to me on my journey through Ethiopia. When we booked the tour of the 11 Monasteries in Lalibela I had of course seen the YouTube videos and was not truly prepared for the majesty and history and folklore of this magnificent place. Our guide, a man named Endayene or Endi for short did a phenomenal job sharing the rich history of each Church. Endi's knowledge of the history of Lalibela is full. I would recommend Endi to be your tour guide and he can be reached here on TripAdvisor.
