Lake Lila is a jewel and moderately difficult to get to which keeps out the hordes. An folks to meet out there are there for peace and solitude. Not a party place. Keep is pristine there aren't many places left like Lila

My wife and I first visited this lake in 1979 right after the Webb family sold it to New York State. We did our annual canoe trip just about every year until 2004 or so when my shoulder was getting bad, and I could not paddle without pain. The long drive in from the highway is worth the trip - bring your bathing suit for a swim to the island from the beach at end of the 0.3 mile carry path. Watch for little green frogs hanging out in the rocks at the edge of the beach. They are so cute! And do take your netting and/or bug... More
