After the boat ride my wife and I had to stop by and see this historic site. We did not make any reservations so we could not get inside, but still worth the trip.

Great historic site of last building of Fort Herkimer and was built between 1753 and 1767. Used as a stronghold in French and Indian Wars and American revolution. Not open enough - only open on special dates.
