We paid a visit to Montauk and wanted to go to the lighthouse. The climb was a little strenuous, but once you are at the top...…..the views are really spectacular and worth the trip to the end of Long Island and the climb up.

I love lighthouses, so my love of this lighthouse is biased. I didn't mind paying the parking and entry fees because they seem like they are for good causes (upkeep). The climb up to the top of the lighthouse was scary for me, but well...More

Don't miss this! The most knowledgeable volunteers are stationed throughout the museum. Beautiful exhibits explain the history of the area and the lighthouse itself. The stairs up the lighthouse were NOT daunting despite the warnings.

We visited the lighthouse on 2 days. The area around is beautiful. Some people went up the stairs, I think 130, but the spiral stairs are very small. Very interesting museum, video and many pictures. At our time a tour guide was around and could...More

Absolutely gorgeous area. Great views from the lighthouse and surrounding areas. Lighthouse museum was very informative and interesting. Walking to the top of the lighthouse is not for the faint of heart - dizzying amount of very narrow stairs. Worth it for the views but...More

Beautiful beach & and well groomed trails. The beach did not contain garbage like so many I’ve seen, which says a lot to the types of patrons this site attracts and to the park staff. Two thumbs up 👍

Depends on the time of year. I can't think of any place in Montauk itself that would be only $200 a night in July/August.

We saw dogs in the public area around the park but I would doubt they are allowed at the lighthouse itself.
