Neat Falls Flowing through the Center of Town
We made a quick stop here on the advice of a friend. The falls were not quite full, but still pretty neat to see. They almost appear to flow into a white house at the base. Parking is in a lot right next to the white house or along the main downtown street.

    The Hallmark Falls
The Hallmark Mystery channel uses the shot of the falls over the historic white property as their opening scene to their mystery movies. The falls are beautiful, and the illusion from a distance is quite cool. I recommend turning left onto Main Street from Owego Street to see the falls behind the property from that angle and driving slowly on Main Street towards the falls and slowly watching the changing views. The Shequaga Falls means "Tumbling Waters". There are a couple of parking spaces in front of the falls and a nice small park land area and walking path to the edge of the falls. There are two hanging plaques with one stating that there is a sketch of the falls in the Louvre made about 1820 by Louis Philippe who later became the King of France.

    Pretty waterfall
Cute waterfall in Montour Falls located near the town’s main street. Plenty of free parking is available on nearby streets. We spent about 10 minutes there as it is located in a small park in a residential neighborhood with a couple of picnic tables and park benches. Very pretty.

Aug 29 2022 Due to lack of rain - NO WATERFALLS only a trickle. Wish hotel had let me know that when I made my reservations. A 937 mile drive to find no water flowing over the falls, not a descent restaurant withing 35 miles and Montour Falls is a nasty po-dunk little repressed/depressed area. Be sure you plan your meals far away prior to getting into Montour Falls or once you get out of town, and most of all be sure it has rained and water has come from the skies 'a plenty' prior to wasting your time. Too bad I didn't do a bit more research. Like I said however, would have been nice if hotel clerk had advised me of the lack of water flow, could'v saved me a couple of thousand dollars in making the trip. I will say IF the falls were flowing it would have been spectacular.

There are four waterfalls in and around Mountour Falls, and this one is right near downtown. There are benches and some historical information. It's easy to find free on-street parking. Just a block away, on Main Street, is North New York Cafe, a great place to pick up a coffee, baked goods, cold drinks, and find a bathroom.

We purchased a sandwich in town then headed to this small park in Montour Falls. The falls were gushing at a fast rate in May. Sitting in the park at the falls’ base, we were mesmerized by the thunder of the water plunging to the bottom. No need for words, the power of the moment filled the air.

To see these falls is so simple - right off the road. If you are headed this way, you should not miss them. Free, no walking, a tiny clean park with parking, and gorgeous! The viewing can last as few as 5 minutes, but an opportunity to take time to absorb the atmosphere.

This was a beautiful water but the pictures don't really do it justice. Very impressive, especially considering it's location. You're just driving down some back street with houses everywhere, and suddenly, in someone's back yard is this waterfall! Right off the street, easy to park and walk to. But I can only imagine what the people who live there think about the constant noise of people and water falling.

My brother and I had visited Montour Falls quicly on a day trip in January 2019 and it was frozen and absolutely beautiful and stunningly visible from the moment we turned onto Main St. We subsequently visited the area and stopped by in the summer. Not so impressive with little to no water. The best time to visit is in the winter. Don't forget to eat at Paradiso's Village Bakery in town. Delicious!

Have stopped here scores of times over the years when visiting the Finger Lakes area. Never disappoints in providing a relaxing experience. Just drive west into town (not much of a town per se) as far as you can go. Not much else to see/do in Montour Falls but you’ll love hearing the waterfalls and agree with other posters here how cool it would be to have these falls in your backyard. Benches available to sit and relax. But, yes, it is a waterfalls so if rainfall is low, the waterfalls won’t be flowing hard. Can’t change that.

The falls are Beautiful. And what I really liked is everyone can experience them. Lots of street parking so those who can’t walk far barely have to walk. It’s a very very short and completely flat walk to the falls. As in less than five minutes. As someone with parents who are over 85 I look for things like this. Everyone please enjoy!!

You drive into Montour Falls and the first thing you notice at the end of the main street is the waterfalls. It appears that the water is cascading down directly into town. There is a park entrance, set between two private residences, where you can walk up to the reservoir at the base of the falls. Something you don't see everyday. A short stop to enjoy and then onto the next waterfalls (as we decided to visit numerous waterfalls/ parks in the Watkins Glen area.

Brought lunch with us during our visit. There were picnic benches and chairs to sit and stay awhile to relax and enjoy the falls. It was very relaxing to eat our lunch by the falls. Small park is kept very clean. Ample parking in surrounding area. Falls are located in the middle of a very cute town. Due to Covid restrictions none of the little stores were open . Would have been nice to check them out. Oh well, maybe next time.
