Great place to hike for all levels. Beautiful scenery well marked trails. I come here each time I visit & thoroughly enjoy the area. Great location for families & some trails open to bikes & horses. It was a bit unnerving to learn that this time of year hunters are also welcome. Well worth the time to stroll or hike... More

Hike the day away! Start out early! There are many ways to get to a trail head, one of my faves is fro the 'hair pin turn'. Be prepared for a strenuous hike up, and some bouldering. If you can persevere, the reward at the top outcropping is a view all the way to the NYC skyline in the vague... More

We did the small trail called Millbrook Ridge. We stop by at visitor center to get some info first and then drive 5 mins to another parking lot to pay the entrance fee $12 per person and walk up to the trails. On the way go, we walk on the main Trapps road first then make a left turn to... More

This place is easily one of the best places for so many things. It has some of the best traditional rock climbing in the world. Great hiking trails with various levels of difficulty. The preserve is very well maintained and the staff are fantastic!

There are plenty of places to rock scramble but if you just want fresh air, exercise, beauty, distance, you've got miles and miles of rolling hills with reasonably good footing all the way.

Whether you climb the Gunks or just eye the Hunks, you will have fun at the Trapps or exploring the many trails or stopping by the restaurant or Picnic lodge. Love the lice skaing in Victorian rink in winter,

Thanks for the great review! The tower is on Mohonk Mountain House property, while neighbors with a shared history, Mohonk Preserve (non-profit nature preserve) and the Mohonk Mountain House (resort hotel) are two separate places. From Mohonk Preserve, you can continue your hike onto the grounds of the Mohonk Mountain House and into the Minnewaska State Park Preserve without any... More

Beautiful place to hike. We happened to be there at the peak of fall, but I would love to experience all seasons---well....maybe not winter.... at this really beautiful spot. What's the deal about hunters & hikers being in the same spot at the same time---& hikers need to be ware. That was not not not cool. It is hard for... More

A beautiful natural place, a must for an avid hiker or outdoor enthusiast. Admission is $12, which is a little steep, but kids under 12 are free.
