Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

I didn't find the waterfalls that impressive. When you arrive, you're immediately asked if you want to go closer by boat. I would have had to pay 4,000 cfa for a 5-minute tour. But I walked along the jetty, where there are also lots of souvenir shops, and looked at the waterfalls from a "distance" - that was enough. There's also a restaurant there - I think prawns would have cost 7,000 cfa, a beer 1,000 cfa. I didn't have that much money with me.

You don't have to go to Kribi for the waterfalls. The area is quite nice.

Spent a couple of days in Kribi and we had this as part of our sight seeing.Nice to see a river emptying itself directly into the ocean. Very beautiful and natural scene. Was dazed to know that the falls are divided into male and female! I think we had a better view by taking the canoe, however I will say the guides are pretty expensive so you must be ready to bargain. We also visited the pigmee village BAKA on the Lobe River using a canoe ride still, though a Cameroonian I was amazed at what I saw, Indeed happiness does not consist of what we own or have. I will recommend you visit this any day. ..

These falls are spectacular. We luckily missed the turn off to the restaurant and stalls. Instead we turned through lobe village (but you need a 4wd) and drove right to the sea then walked along the beach to find a brilliant view of the falls. A couple of local guys proposed a crevettes and fish barbeque. It was basic but tasty with chips and plantain. We never got hassled by sellers as we were on the wrong side! They took us by boat closer to the falls. Certainly our location was much better than the normal touristy set up on the other side. Oh and there are hammocks under the trees for relaxing with a beer as the food was cooked. Will be back for sure.

Very nice place to relax and have some fresh fish
Romantic gateway for couples and family. Just not enough activities you must bring your own things to do after the canoe ride

Beautiful falls, but not the biggest you will ever see, so don't be disappointed. You can get a boat to the other side, where there's another restaurant and a nice beach. The restaurants around the falls serve excellent fish, but be prepared to wait for it.

The falls are rather spectacular but getting there you pass through all the garbage and drying laundry of the small village of restaurants and kitsch art "boutiques" that spring around any tourist attraction. Seafood there can be good, but make sure it is fresh catch and ask for the price before you sit down!!

A group of 7 of us took a drive up to the waterfalls to see what all the fuss was about. Amazing scenery and a very nice sea view restaurant just past the car park, plus their is lots of little stalls selling all the usual local tourist merchandise!
Our primary objective was to visit the Pygmies 45 minutes up the river, we ended up taking a box of Gin, 200 cigarettes, some gasoline and some fishing equipment for the village as a gift. We payed 1000 francs per person and took 2 boats up the river, met the tribe, had a dance with them all, presented the gifts, had some photos taken and then headed back down the river, which was 20 minutes quicker than the way up due to the flow of current. Had a few beers enjoying the view and then headed home. All in all a pleasant day and returned a few more times.

I loved the landscape, simply amazing. We were approached by a tourist called "Olivier Crevette". He is very good, he and his team offers guided tours and fresh schrimps (you see them alive). I would strongly recommend to look for Olivier and his team, they are reliable, reasonable prices and prepares excellent food.
