Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

We had the queue long time and someone nearly passed out. They should have some trees or provide shades. Not much safety fence around the rocks. Other tour guides where really helpful and let you swim in the water. The blue eye is beautiful but toilet was really shocking.

Visited the blue eye as part of an all day trip around the sights of Sal. Note that some people say it’s not worth the visit and perhaps it’s not on its own depending on how far you travel to see it.
Also, as soon as the sun goes in, you can’t see anything at all!
As it was, we found it fascinating to have a quick look at, see the rugged volcanic Sal coastline, enjoy a Strela at the bar and browse some of the local goods and gifts in the shop.

Well done Tui for getting us at this unique cape Verdean location too early to experience the Blue eye phenomenon as it only occurs around lunch time re sun in the sky at the right angle and height but certainly not 10 am. Otherwise a real wow.

Such an amazing place! We rented our ride for the day and headed first to buracona.. go there only between 12 and 1 30 pm.since that's the time when the sun is overhead and illuminates and makes the blue cave spectacular. There is a natural pool there good for swimming.. highly recommend wreaking water shoes to avoid hurting your feet with the stone bed. Finally the cafe there is amazing. I have been to do many places but that is the best mhai thai I've had.. the garlic bread, chicken roast was amazing.. hats off to the chef.

Worth a visit to see this spectacular natural phenomenon. It's around 3eu entrance fee. My visit was as part of an island sightseeing tour. But it's doable if you have a hire car. NOTE: you have to visit when there's no cloud and between 10:30am and 4:30pm to see this (as the sun is then in the correct position to show the blue eye). You may have to queue to see it, but i only queued for around 10mins. I would visit again if returning to Sal. Nice bar, toilet facility and gift shop onsite (plus a small aquarium all included within the entrance fee).

Watching the waves crashing on the rocks and then walking down the steps to see the beautiful azur Blue Eye. An experience.

Stop at the blue eye as part of Island tour, its great to look at and also the surroundings as water clashing onto the rocks.

It’s only €3, but it’s not worth the drive, let alone precariously dangling over a cliff edge to try to see it

Seeing the blue eye, the drinks. You have to go between a certain time to see it. We went with a tour guide and great photo ops
