Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

super friendly staff & guides (special thanks to Matthew!). stayed for two nights and did four “tours”. lots of first after 20+ years of wildlife in Africa: Brown Hyena, pangolin, ardvark, eagle owl. amazing night drive. fantastic walk with 3 rhinos. leopard lounging on branch five meters away, super close to completely unphased pangolin. all in all a perfect end to our time in Namibia.

We so enjoyed our stay! The staff were friendly and helpful! Rooms were clean with a view of the reserve. Room has large window to watch the wildlife wonder by. Zebras, warthogs, spring bok were not uncommon sites. The safari guides were knowledgeable & friendly. All meals were excellent.

Party of six. We were upgraded to the Villa from the Bush Camp. Wow! Private host, private chef. Huge rooms, plus the main sitting and dining areas. Highly recommend for groups of friends or couples traveling together. This was our last stop on a two week driving tour of Namibia, and we couldn't have been treated to a more wonderful ending to our holiday. The Villa is outside the fenced area where the Bush and Plains Camps are located, in a secluded part of the reserve.

There is a swimming pool, but way cold in June. An elevated gazebo that looks out over the waterhole. A fire pit and all of the rooms have private decks with views of the active waterhole or plains.

The first night upon arriving back from the afternoon drive and sundowner, there were two porcupines, a brown hyena and a honey badger on the ground near the gazebo.

In the afternoon we all relaxed on our decks, visited by herds of common impala, gemsbok, warthogs, wildebeest and tons of birds. The reserve offers special rhino and pangolin tracking for a fee, as well as trips to the night hide and night drives. But, we had so much activity at our waterhole, and the luxurious villa, we all just opted to sit by the fire and enjoy our wine, the stars and the outstanding service from the staff at the Villa.

Okonjima is known for it's cheetahs and leopards. I knew the cheetahs would be in enclosures, but it was significantly larger than I was expecting. The first afternoon we (well, our guide) tracked a female leopard and her cub with a kill up in the tree. The next day we were having tea, and I looked across the waterhole and there was a large leopard. We jumped in the safari vehicle and our guide found him laying on the road posing for us. Beautiful animal.

That evening Chef Emily cooked up a braii and baked me a birthday cake.

The following morning we went looking for the sable. We didn't find them, but I think our guide had everyone on the property looking for them. But we did see lots of zebra, kudu, dik dik, steenbok and red hartebeest.

I can't say enough wonderful things about Okonjima. I like that they limit the number of vehicles on a sighting. We rarely saw another jeep, just one at the leopard sighting.

Amazing place that focusses on leopards (you almost are guaranteed to see some), pangolins with seasoned rangers/guides and helps scientists to better understand what the optimum environment for these animals is, taking into account the human environment and ecosystem.

What an experience! The reserve is huge, the animals have more than enough space to move around freely. Only a few leopards are roughly monitored. Highly recommended. The visit there was the icing on the cake of our Namibia trip.

Superb experience, the camps are very beautiful and equipped. Superb observation of animals during an aperitif next to the watering hole. And the tracking leopard outing is a unique experience. Certainly, they have a VHF collar but that seems to be the only way to approach one during a trip to Namibia. We found a female with her baby who was enjoying her night's hunt. Unique moment. I recommend ++ superb landscapes and experiences!
