At about an hour's drive from Cape Town, the West Coast National Park is a popular destination for the locals. The highlight of the year is in August and September, when billions of wild flowers cover vast expanses of this park. It's something we go...More

Drive slowly through this beautiful park and watch out for the tortoises crossing the road the ostriches running through the dunes. Drive all the way down to the beach and take a stroll on the beach and dip your toes into the ice-cold water. A...More

This park has a number of bird hides and a variety of species can be spotted. We didn't go in the Flower season, therefor Postberg Reserve was closed. It's a huge park, with lovely beaches, and worth a visit throughout the year. The superb natural...More

Best time to visit is during flower season, end of August beginning of September. Went last year and the flowers were beautiful. I would go back every year.

We had a lovely day driving through the park. We were too late in the year to see all the flowers but the scenery was lovely.. A beautiful lagoon with a deserted sandy beach & the rugged Atlantic coast. We saw quite a few ostriches.

We saw lots of birds especailly Ostrich but not many animals, only in the distance. Abrahamskraal waterhole was well worth a visit, as was the rocky coastline at Tsaarsbank

Fairly difficult to spot wildlife while driving as the fynbos is dense. However, we saw lots of buck and ostrich while walking. You really need binoculars as the animals will always move away from humans. The bird hide we visited (apparently there are several) is...More

The park has good roads and covers both the Langebaan lagoon, strandveld hills and valleys as well as a section of the Atlantic ocean. Animals were not that plentiful but birdlife particularly waders abundant

We regularly visit WCNP and can recommend it to anybody who wants to get away from the city. It is especially good for birders who would like to add some waders to their life list. We really enjoy the park and what it has to...More

We were not expecting to see much on the 14 km trail especially since we started in drizzling weather but we were doing it for some exercise. We were pleasantly surprised with sightings of herds of gemsbokke, ostriches, lots of tortoises and some bontebokke and...More
