Driving through the beautiful West Coast National Park was an awesome experience. Specially when you drive all the way to the other side of the ocean where everything seems to be untouched. Kraalbaai is unspoiled......beautiful, breathtaking.. Feels like you on some exotic continent....

Enter the park via the Langebaan Gate at low tide because then you have breathtaking views from the Seeberg Viewpoint right after the entrance. We paid 75 R per Person as foreigners. Locals pay only 50R so it is reasonable. If you are not a hiker it is nice to drive to the viewpoints and have a short look. At... More

The park is situated between the Atlantic Ocean and the Langebaan Lagoon. It is mostly drab and lifeless with the odd animal to be spotted. The birdlife is plentiful though. The swimming spot at the lagoon is very nice and the roads are mostly tar. on occasion the views are fantastic. Motorcycles are allowed in the park.

Sadly, we were here in the summer, long after the spectacular spring blooming season. Even so, it is a lovely spot with a number of places to pull off and enjoy the spectacular views. Take time to go to the lagoon beach where the water is sparkling clear, and the sand like sugar!

Ostriches..Kudu and Deer..and families of tortoises all in one day.. Then the Preek stoel..swimming and braai facilities are top class and clean and beautiful. Another... More

We went to the lagoon beach and on the Drive we managed to see tortoises, antelope, and once we got there we had the joy of seeing some sand rays. Lovely nature reserve

From this National Park there are lovely views over the lagoon and bird hides from where you can watch flamingoes along with other birds. We visited in November. The roads lead to view points and although there are larger animals there we only saw ostrich on our visit. However, we were not disappointed as we were hoping to see tortoises... More

We came towards the end of flower season and still saw a lovely display of yellow, orange, pink, purple, and white flowers, in abundance. The wildlife was great, too, because we added elands, bonteboks, ostrich, and mountain zebra to our list. Birds included Sacred Ibis, Flamingo, African Oystercatcher, and Black Harrier. We had not seen any of these on safari... More
