Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Fahari has a lovely selection of well priced clothing, jewelry and gifts. Picked up a few things for ourselves to remember our trip to Zanzibar and gifts for friends at home

Best shop in stonetown! They have a super nice selection of bags for reasonable prices and good quality. Also: really relaxt staff, so that your shopping experience is really calm. We bought some wonderful gifts for friends and family back home!

During a walk in the old town, we came across this stall. In view of the products offered and the words "handmade".
We asked if it was possible to make a custom-made dress. We were so satisfied that we had it redone a second 24 hours before our start.
Charmed by the quality of the fabrics, the services provided, the precision and the speed of making the dresses requested. All this for an unbeatable price !!!

Let yourself be guided Mikki is a professional at your service who is also very nice and very outgoing !!
This shop deserves to be known and recognized!
If you ever passed through Stonetown, don't hesitate a second, you won't regret it! What is certain is that we will come back to it 😉 Johanna and Andrew

Made it a point to visit this shop after reading reviews and we were not disappointed. I bought a handmade, leather-trimmed canvas messenger bag and my mother bought a similar, smaller shoulder bag. Both are lined with colorful African cotton. The bags look very stylish and modern and fit right in with our urban lifestyle. Prices were very reasonable and the staff very friendly and helpful. If you have a few days they will custom-make any of their bags in the color of your choice. Don't miss this shop.

My friend and I went in search of good quality, authentic goods for ourselves and some friends as presents representative of Zanzibar and came upon Fahari. The staff were very friendly, the shop inviting and the goods of excellent quality. This was an added bonus on top of Fahari being a social enterprise so it was a win all-round. Proudly wearing my outfit right now!

A nice, fixed price shop that designs and makes all its products. It’s a feel good shopping place with some nice items, and they accept credit cards.

My wife stopped in here after reading some other reviews. It has a great selection of locally made products. Staff were friendly, warm and welcoming. She ended up purchasing a dress, a wristlet handbag and a pair of sterling silver ostrich egg earrings, all of which would be suitable to worn back at home.

If you are tired of the overpriced kitsch you will find in Memories of Zanzibar, be sure to stop by this shop which specializes in beautifully made bags out of local fabrics. The business provides training and meaningful employment for women and persons with disabilities. Take time to talk to the owners about the story of their business.

Great place to stop for handmade, high quality, and authentic african handcrafts. You will pay more here, and they are mostly firm on prices but I really liked their business model and felt good about supporting local artisans who were present in the shop making goods. Great place and wonderful selection of jewelry, and handbags.

I liked the idea behind it and supported this good cause with my purchases. Now 5 years later I still use my pencil case everyday and still love it!
