Years ago, one would have to take a ferry from Ogdensburg, NY to Prescott, Ont. and then proceed up Route 16 thru Kempville to Ottawa, capital of Canada. In the winter, sometime the channel out of the harbor on the St. Lawrence River would freeze...More

Best bridge in a 50 mile radius!, makes getting to Prescott and Ottawa very convenient! The steel deck is a bit annoying with its loud humming :( Duty Free is awesome. Customs both sides are 5-Star :)

We at one time traveled across this bridge once a week beginning in 1973 to visit my In laws. This bridge has always been well maintained. Border staff on both sides are friendly.

I cross this bridge about once a month. Nice view of the St. Lawrence seaway. Too bad I am usually driving so I cannot look out the sides more.

Going over the bridge to Canada is not a difficult trip. Canadian customs officers are businesslike and friendly.Traffic is always smoothly flowing into Canada and back, where American customs officers are businesslike and keep the traffic moving.

Thankfully, there is a 25MPH/40KPH speed limit posted on this magnificent bridge. That gives you time to look up and down the Seaway from the high vantage point of the apex between the two giant suspension towers. You can see the big ships coming and...More

This bridge crossing not only offers a great view but also less waiting time on most days. If you going to or returning from Watertown NY, this crossing usually takes less time that the 1000 Island Bridge. Great if Ottawa is your northbound destination.

Once you cross bridge it finishes right in front of the Canada Customs entry into Canada. Unless your coming into Canada, not much use to use crossing.
