Take the kids or out of town friends. 30 minutes hike to tower and then the climb. Reward is the view. Advise not to go in windy or rainy day.

We used an old version of "50 Hikes in the Hudson Valley" to find this place. The book didn't do a great job with directions, not the park's fault. However, once we got to the loop to the fire tower, the trail blazes were missing...More

Getting to the Fire Tower is a feat on it's own. Depending on which trail you take, the climb can be very steep with challenging footing. It's beautiful once you get up there. You can see for forever!
