Dating from the 1920's, Playland has a good collection of historic and modern rides, picnic areas, a beach, and a lake with paddle boats and a short boat tour. Well worth the $30 admission. They have a good kiddieland for the young ones, and while it is no Six Flags, it still has enough thrill rides to keep anyone happy.

Loved the experience here, many rides to enjoy, and very short lines... for similar rides you take on a youth fair that would take you almost an hour... only just a couple of rides you coulld notice were very old and didn't quite make an impression like 2 "scary" ones, can't remember the name. The fact of it being located... More

My family wanted to go here for a birthday. I am extremely concerned about safety, and refused to ride after the first ride (music express/himalaya) when my family got off that ride after being jerked around on a ride which doesn't ever have to feel like that. After that, I didn't go on anything. I did like the 9:30 PM... More

I grew up in the park when it was always busy with local families. As the demographics have changed, so has the park. The numerous "agencies" who have come in to run the park over the years have ruined the original park flavor.

I've gone to this amusement park with my family since I was a young as I can remember. And now I've gotten the chance to take my little girls. I've taken them a couple of times but hadn't gone in a couple of years since they fenced it off and began charging admission. It used to be free to get... More

as seen in movies, this place is magical. its art deco charm, rendered in funky, over-painted wood, with a frisson of 1960's grooviness, the place is proudly, vigorously uncool - uncool and romantic, joyful and simple. Go for the feel of time past, and enjoy the not-horrible rides, horrible food, and gloriously awful entertainment as icing on the cheesecake.

I still remember the boat ride as a toddler, so imagine the joy of returning with my own. From cotton candy that tastes good (!) to kiddie rides in abundance, to the decent seafood restaurant on the pier (lobster, fish n'chips by the sea) to the incredible boardwalk and nostalgic decor, its a family friendly all day outing with plenty... Playland is a great spot. They have everything you could want at an amusement park and it is right in Westchester County. The roller coaster is legendary if that is your thing. There is a ferris wheel that is fun. There are kiddie rides. There is a beach. There is plenty of food and cotton candy too.
