Beautiful Lake

A quiet corner of the Adirondacks centered around beautiful Saranac Lake. Easy to get around. Close to Lake Placid and beautiful scenic drives.

Just the place to go to truly get away from it all. Several large lakes in the area are one more beautiful and tranquil than another. People are friendly and welcoming. Lots of opportunities to do all sorts of boating, canoeing, swimming in the warm weather. Small town with some interesting eateries and interesting history. Rail rides lots of fun,... More

I dropped my iPhone on the street while visiting Saranac Lake. The person who found it turned it in to the police station where I was able to recover it. The finder was not identified so I could not even thank her (I did learn it was a lady) let alone reward her. This seems to be typical of the... More

This is a gorgeous area. Excellent for Paddling, Climbing, Camping and Hiking. The paddle-in campsites are spacious and private. I'll definitely be back next year - more water to paddle on and more mountains to climb!

Spent a weekend at a relative's upper Saranac Lake. The sunny weather was beautiful with highs in the 70s and lows in the 40s during the last week in August. If you have a boat, there is plenty of room for skiing or tubing and lots of nooks and crannies to explore along the coast line. There is even a... More

Saranac Lake is a cool little town and lake in the Adirondacks that is just the most beautiful place to hike, swim, boat and camp. Very friendly people and world class scenery.

I highly recommend Saranac Lake as a family friendly travel destination! There are many things to do, great places to lodge and eat, and the mountain and lake views are breath taking! Our family fun day started with a walk through downtown, followed by a fabulous lunch at the Downhill Cafe, then a ride on the historical carousel, a scenic... More

Looks like a greeting card it's so perfect. We kayaked the lake and I guess boats were restricted on our area so it was very nice not worrying about boat traffic. Quiet and relaxing. Stop on the islands for a nice walk or lunch. Very clean. Water temperature was perfect
