Lighthouses are so much a part of our heritage that whenever possible we will visit them. Now the lighthouse was a bit of a challenge. We didn't realize that the Hudson River was still affected by the tides being so far up north, but it was. Watch the tides or you may get wet.

We visit our town's historic landmark regularly year round, weather permitting. It's the oldest lighthouse on the majestic Hudson River. Eagles are nesting here and there's also a great variety of other water birds and wildlife. Locals come to swim in a nice area behind the house which is also less in the tidal pull. The Lighthouse also serves as... More

We enjoyed the winding path to the point. There were small bridges/walkways for wet spots. The lighthouse has been beautifully restored, and is also a bed and breakfast..we'll definitely come back for an overnight stay.

We just did the hike to the lighthouse and found it lovely - they did an amazing job of clearing the path of snow! the views all the way were stunning. We loved that we could simply go and walk around the building looking all about at the scenery! Also it was dog friendly - we had so much fun... More

Great places to with the kids. There a nice picnic are that has some shade. You can on the creek side or swim on the river side when the tide is high. Yes the Hudson River has tides here so check the tide chart online. There port a potty available.

We enjoyed the short trail walk out to the lighthouse more! It's definitely nice to see, but save it for warm weather!

We used the lighthouse as a backdrop for our engagement pictures in 2011. It was the perfect backdrop and we still love to look back at them. The only tricky part is figuring out when the tides are right to get out there.

I had never seen this kind of lighthouse! It's made like a house with spectacular backyard . I think you can come in inside only by appointments, but the weather was so sunny that we just hiked around , it was a lots of kids there with there parents and dogs, so anyone can come and enjoy it.

We enjoyed our two visits here last summer. It was very peaceful and serene. The road to get to the lighthouse from the south was not easy to find at first as the signs are small. Glad we found it though!
