We got up early and walked the boardwalk. There is a path that will take you further. Definitely the freshest place on the island.

The best part of walking the boardwalk were the views of the bridge. The beach needs some cleaning and the water is dirty.

Plenty of folks flock to walk, jog and stroll along the boardwalk on Staten Island. It has been spruced up and has great views of the harbor. It is nice to see plenty of people making good use of it.

Need more restaurants and refreshment stands . Also some of the boards were loose and sticking up could cause you to trip . Beautiful scenery and sights to be seen .

I grew up on Staten Island in the 1980's and although I loved the island, I always thought of the beaches as unsanitary and unpleasant. The type of place where hypodermic needles would be seen, and where it was not family friendly at all. Fast...More

After super storm Sandy, we couldn't wait to get our beloved boardwalk back. It's available day and night for walkers, joggers, bikers. The fresh air right off the water is great at the end of a long day.

The boardwalk is a great place to get a good walk in and enjoy the views of the coastline. The city has done a good job repairing and maintaining it for walkers and joggers to enjoy.

The boardwalk runs along South Beach with great views of NJ Highlands and Coney Island. Farther east is Fort Wadsworth; now part of the National Parks system and less trafficked. Great all year round for quiet walks. A real treasure.

Boardwalk is good all summer for walking the dog but bet. Mem. Day and end of Sept. Dogs cannot go on the beach. Dogs ok all summer on Fort Wadsworth Beach (next door to South Beach to the east but no lifeguards there.
