Snug Harbor is a delight during any season. The Chinese Lantern Festival was just one way to take advantage of beautiful Snug Harbor.

Amazing display covering a large amount of the grounds. 60,000 people passed through the magnificently lit displays. Hope it comes back to Staten Island. If it comes to a venue near you, don't miss it.

I wish we had known this lovely park existed as we would have allowed time to stop. What a cool place it looked when we walked through after visiting the Children’s Museum. Only given 4* as the lantern display tickets seemed expensive.

Well worth a visit! Steeped in history and the arts now. Captain Randall, the benefactor that started this facility for "aged, decrepit seamen" was a friend of Alexander Hamilton. That is only one of the tidbits you will discover. Just drive in during opening hours...More

The Winter Lantern Festival is bright, fun, and a treat for kids. However, parking on. Saturday was a nightmare, you can wind up on the street many blocks away. Crowd control is badly handled with ticket buyers and holders all squashed together at the entrance....More

There is no bike rental at the Staten Island side of the ferry, but there is a provision for bikes on the ferry. They load by the lower level and it is clearly marked and convenient. Due to construction and bike share lanes... More
