This is an amazing place! The great blue heron rookery itself is worth the trip. You can sit at the edge of the swamp and watch the herons up in their nests (with their babies if you time it right - early May I'd say)....More

No admission charge. There might be a place for donations inside gift center. Blue heron roosts are really cool now.

I am not a kayaker...but...if u can carry them on your backs down a long winding trail to the beach, it would be Great! Then...hike them back up it!! I would recommend Fair Haven state beach for that, you can see these... More
