The Arboretum is worth a visit. The views of the surrounding area are nice and my personal favorite is the Fairy Garden. You can relax or take a walk through any time of year to experience the beauty of the Catskills.

I enjoyed this arboretum but was disappointed by the lack of diversity in plants. I had hoped for some interesting flowering trees, but instead got a leisurely hike and a cool boardwalk. Very peaceful experience. It wasn't on top of a mountain, so not sure...More

I went based on the high trip advisor reviews but I was disappointed by the amount of private development in and around the arboretum. It doesn't give the land a feeling of a nature sanctuary. I admit I did not take the long walk around...More

Free and self guided. You need to wear appropriate shoes. I would leave approx 1 hour do to this. Worth checking out.

Great place for a walk. Lots of different areas to explore. Lots of birds, butterflies and many frogs in the pond. There are toilets on site but you need to take your own water.

We happened on the arboretum accidentally, but wound up spending a good part of a day there. The east and west meadows have wonderful rock outcroppings and arrays of native plants and trees; the pond has a large frog population, as well. The hiking trail...More

Scenic meadows & plantings. Currently still building & planting. No entry fee, but a donation box. Nice short walks.

We noticed the directional sign at the bottom of Hill Street, and followed the road for a couple of miles to check it out. Visited twice during our stay in Tannersville--once in the snow. Great walking area--must be fabulous during spring/summer! Extremely well-marked trails, lots...More

Great trails with plenty of plant/tree IDs. We were lucky to see all the fall colors - don't skip any of this place as each area seemed better than the next. There is a perfectly clean restroom in case you need it also!

We got rained out at Colgate Lake last summer and decided to walk around the grounds at this lovely arboretum. So much love has been put into the various gardens and pathways and a lot of expertise about landscape gardening as well. Very enjoyable afternoon.
