Boardwalk

Jones Beach Boardwalk is a great place to take a stroll and enjoy the view of ocean during any season. In the summer there are concession stands to get ice cream and food.

In February - so not alot of people around. Lots of parking, though, for high season. I would come back anytime. Roads are rough. Lots of potholes.

I've come to Jones Beach many times this was the weirdest time I've ever been there. There was a guy standing outside the parking lot with a bullhorn screaming "Nooooo, Noooooo" when I try to park my car. I told him he had the personality of a brick, and this job wasn't for him. That being said we had a... More

You can get there by bus but it would be better to have a car. You can take the train from Manhattan Penn Station to Freeport Station and then transfer to the bus to Jones Beach. There are other beaches on the Atlantic that are easier to get to from Manhattan. You can go to Long Beach which has direct... More

I grew up near this beach and spent a lot of time here , swimming, fishing, tanning. They also have two large pools, one at each end. Biggest, best beach on Long Island. Summer gets crowded, but always somewhere quiet and nice to walk to.Parking is like $10.00 a day.

Our first visit to Jones Beach and it was wonderful. There were high tides and winds when we were there but we had to go when in town. Nice open beach with good facilities. The bathrooms were still opened but other things were closed. The park offers clean, large parking areas an easy walk to the shore. There were very... More

The restored boardwalk is better than ever and not just for summer. Walking 2 - 3 miles on a brisk autumn day is good for the body and the spirit. But an attraction that makes summer evenings perfect is the bandshell with free folk or rock concerts or line dancing.

We had a marvellous walk along the boardwalk at Jones beach. We started at area 6 and walked a couple of miles. It was sunny and 61. It was quiet because it's out of season. There were some other walkers and the views were clear and you can see a long way over the sea. It's a nature reserve as... More

Clean beach with enough space (specially if You walk a bit away from entrance). No problem to find food or drinks vendors around. If I will be again in NY area in Summer definitely will visit again.
