Tripadvisor’s approach to reviews
Before posting, each Tripadvisor review goes through an automated tracking system, which collects information, answering the following questions: how, what, where and when. If the system detects something that potentially contradicts our community guidelines, the review is not published.
When the system detects a problem, a review may be automatically rejected, sent to the reviewer for validation, or manually reviewed by our team of content specialists, who work 24/7 to maintain the quality of the reviews on our site.
Our team checks each review posted on the site disputed by our community as not meeting our community guidelines.

Have been coming here for years but this was the first time coming in winter - everything was so pretty. Lots of great walking trails and always so nice to see the Falls. Good parking and well marked trails. Great place to spend a a few hours. And dogs are allowed (on leash).

Really nice area to hike. There are a few trails to walk and the views by the water is calming. It took around 1.5 - 2 hours to walk around the entire park. You can easily switch trails at intersections. We took a few short cuts to get to the trail by the water. The eagle trail said that there may be eagles but we didn’t see any. Went on a nice sunny day with a bit of breeze. There are lots of insects so make sure you bring bug spray. The park information center has a bathroom. There are also lots of parking spots and a picnic area.

A hidden gem to explore (by foot) or as my partner and I prefer: by kayak. Who can say no to a stroll/row around NY’s Jurassic Park?

Peebles Island provides great waterfall and river views and is at the confluence of the Hudson and Mohawk Rivers, making it right near the Erie Canal locks. Its two mile perimeter hiking trail takes you around the park and provides scenic vistas. There is also a pavilion, bathrooms, and you can fish here.

I took my dogs for a hike hoping to see some breathtaking views. You will not find that here. The only exciting thing was seeing a deer that is clearly immune to seeing people and does not spook easily.

Great walking trail, a little muddy and slippery on day we visited. Would like to return during warmer and dryer season

You can walk across the bridge and view Lock 2. Park has nice walking trails, and you can see boats and kayakers in the river. There is a visitor center on the Waterford side near where boats are docked. Check out the Erie Canal map and tiles. It was free for us to enter and park on a Saturday afternoon in September.

Hello, I am meeting a friend here to walk the trails on Sunday. She is coming from the south and I am coming from the north (Queensbury). Neither of us have been there before. Can you suggest the easiest place to meet up? Is there only one entrance?'
Thank you,
Bonnie

The south bridge is currently closed (under construction)- you will have to go to the north bridge (entrance in the town of Waterford). To find that I had to map it the old fashioned way (but on a digital map, of course) as my GPS kept trying to route me to the South bridge. There is a visitor center there in Waterford (just before bridge) where you can park and then walk over. If you go on the weekend there is a parking fee of $6.
