- Benjamin JForest Side34 contributionsGreat place to swim, be on sand and for snorkellersIt rained, but we were there for short time. We swam, good for my sister, a toddler. It's safe for her. Bouys, for those who can't swim or snorkel. We did it within them. Parking, place to put up tent. But, the next time we came, there were dogs! I hate dogs, I'm afraid of them,Visited August 2023Travelled with familyWritten 24 February 2024
- travelblaster42Victoria, Canada178 contributionsWorld class beachAmazing beach. Seems a bit small but was quiet when we went. Warm, bath tub like water. Good swimming and also some decent snorkelling off the left side of the beachVisited May 2024Travelled with familyWritten 21 May 2024
- Gillian676Madrid, Spain13 contributionsPure relaxation and luxury…..Lux Grand Baie was the perfect choice for us to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The hotel is beautiful, gorgeous beach bays and well kept swimming pools. We were so impressed with the staff at this hotel, friendly faces every day, who really care that you have an enjoyable time. Every detail is looked after and you really want for nothing during your stay here. We met Brindi and Vikram from management team during our first day and they were always keen to ask how everything was whenever we saw them. Jeyen looked after us at the beach every day, towels, food, water and a smile. Service is 10/10. Another high point has to be the amazing food, superb quality and choice, we enjoyed every single meal both at the main restaurant Beach Rouge and the Japanese restaurant. We got into the habit of a freshly brewed delicious coffee each afternoon from the Maison Lux. Together with a few Spa treatments we treated ourselves with, (Jean David expertly recommended those that would suit us) it was the perfect holiday to switch off and relax. Would definitely recommend if you are looking for luxury treatment and relaxation in Mauritius.Visited July 2024Travelled as a coupleWritten 4 August 2024
- PipH7950 contributionsLovely Sandy beachBeautiful beach. Plenty of free parking on the road. A couple of toilet blocks. Beach was busy with locals and tourists but didn’t feel too packed. Water not too deep and Sandy so safe for kids to swim within roped area.Visited August 2024Travelled with familyWritten 7 August 2024

Its close to where we live so easy walking access for us and we never stay a whole day. I have to say the Ice Cream Wagon is a complete ripoff. I asked for an ice cream in a cone and the sofserve was WATERY and cost an arm and a leg AND he didn't give me the flavour I asked for. I think I had tourist written on my forehead. So I won't make that mistake again. its small and compact but lovely for a few hours and we can walk there. Mon Choisy is a much bigger beach and one is able to find a quiet and secluded spot.

The water is so clear and the sand is soft. A great place to take a stroll along the beach and also great for catching the setting sun. Certain part of the beach can be a bit crowded.

Lots of ‘amazing’ 5* reviews of this beach. Really?! I’m guessing those reviewers rating this beach so highly either spend their lives saying ‘amaaaazing’ to most things and/or truly enjoy overcrowded, noisy 100 metre stretches of sand and bobbing up and down (elbow to elbow) sheepishly within a 25 metre buoyed-off swimming area with other bathers.
Mile after mile of secluded, white sands giving way to translucent shades of aquamarine and indigo water, transparent waves breaking on powder soft sea bed, this is not!
Amazing perhaps if compared to the North Sea coast but not so when compared to other holiday destinations that tout their beaches (as does Mauritius) as world class. Thai islands, Malay Islands, Australia, Philippines, Maldives and Seychelles (to name a few) all offer a different level of amazing.

Beautiful beach where you can meet the locals! In the weekends the beach is filled with families having picnic. Few boats ( not like Trou-aux-Bich where swimming is dangerous) so you can easily both swim and snorkle as the locals also do. A lot of beautiful corals close the beach on both sides, you can safely swim all the way to the reef, and to Pointe d'azur. We stayed for two weeks and where lucky to see turtle several times. The whole family enjoyed this beach, would love to come back.

Boat trip with Garou.
We decided not to trust the malicious opinions or the demeanor of Garou who walks the beach of Peyrebere to sell his excursions. Good luck to us. We left for a day on Bernache Island and in the mangroves. It was an unforgettable day. Jess at the controls of the boat and Clency who enchanted us with his music and his songs. The island is uninhabited, when we disembark it is a bit of paradise. No crowds on the beach, bliss awaits you. Barbecue (fish, chicken, sausages, salads, flambéed pineapples and bananas) unlimited drinks, punch, white or red wine, beers, water, mixed rum. To summarize the ideal outing to enjoy the white sand, turquoise waters and the very friendly atmosphere. Maximum 19 people. We recommend this getaway. Marie Line

Beautiful, public beach in Pereybere. Sheltered by large plants, it has toilets and a wonderful sea. On weekends crowded with clubs with music in tow. At the edge of the pine forest, on the road, there is a small blue kiosk with a Mauritian woman selling excellent street food, the best I've tried. Good experience

Taken the bus from Grand Baie and was not disappointed. Beautiful white sand with palm trees. The water was clear. Food trucks along the beach selling cheap food and drinks. And you will have a best friend on four legs

Beautiful beach with fine sand bordered by palm trees providing shade. Crystal clear waters, very little current. Beautiful contrast between the black stones and the crystal clear waters

Superb island and superb beach.. Paradise. And on the beach look for the man with the reyban and golden hat, it's Garou who will offer you excursions, meals on the beach and lots of tailor-made things. He is fantastic with his team at the top, thanks to Clansy and Jeyson. Dream days guaranteed with plenty of local meals and drinks. I recommend it to the maximum, especially for comparing with other agencies.

Onko rannalla vessa? Onko meri kirkas?

There isn't one right there but if you go a few kilometers towards Grand Baie there is one on the right hand side. I am not sure if it is a private one, or open for public use?

È meglio la spiaggia di Perebere o quella di Grand bay?!

Concordo. Mi scuso il ritardo. Meglio ancora trou aux biches. L’importante è restare costa ovest

What about the busesfrom Airport to Pereybere beach area? Cost for one way? Thanks.
Written 18 January 2017
you will have to get two or three buses I think...first to Port Louis then to Grand Baie and onto Pereybere...takes an hour to 90 mins...total cost about 4 euro
