Lake Manyara is known for its tree-climbing lions. In the national park, you can also see elephants, wildebeest, zebras, buffalos, various antelope, and over 400 variety of birds, including flamingos. Best choice for safari/game drive.

The roads are horrible but the lake is wonderful. Expect to see lots of animals both large and small.

A very accessible and well managed tropical rain forest national park and lake area. Great tree canopies making elephants and monkeys happy. An absolute abundance of birdlife in September with numerous safe viewing spots out of vehicles. Spectacular and not crowded.

Perhaps not as packed with wildlife as Tarangire or the crater but still a very cool experience with a ton of bird life! Saw a lot of baboons, and birds.

I really can't say When we went it was January. So whether or not the road is open now I do not know. The Lake is worth the visit. And you will see lots of animals. Have fun !
