If you have seen Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater before you visit Lake Manyara...it could be a let down...but if you at first visit Lake Manyara and then the other two...your expectations will rise to the roof.

Lake Manyara National Park was the first stop on our safari. We saw so many types of animals! This included the amazing tree climbing lion and at least twenty elephants!

On our recent safari to Kenya and Tanzania we stopped at Lake Manyara park. Although we saw some cape buffalo, monkeys and elephants it was not as good as Amboseli, Serengeti or Masai Mara.

This park doesn't have a ton of animals but the lake and birds are great. It's worth a the trip. The hot springs are really nice.

Great place to see animals especially birds- small, medium, big and gigantic. Very different than Ngorongo, Serengeti, Tarangire. In the Rift Valley.

Wonderful little park with tons of cool birds. Baby wildebeest being born. Loads of baboons. Not a crowded park in February.

I really can't say When we went it was January. So whether or not the road is open now I do not know. The Lake is worth the visit. And you will see lots of animals. Have fun !
