Princess Salme Museum is a historical treasure from when Sultan's ruled the Spice Islands. Good deal of information about the past (sometimes dark) secrets of the island of Zanzibar.

Very interesting museum of Princess Salme’s life. I would highly recommend to take the tour with the curator – it takes about an hour, but is well worth it.

This is what we went to on our first evening in Stone Town. Princess Salme was quite the lady. She risked her life for love and gave up her royal position to marry.

We would have gone in here after the Palace Museum but there was a $10us cover charge and it really didn't seem worth the price. reducing the price would bring more people in to see it.
